OK, at first it might sound like an unusual combination…but Bob paid expenses through college and medical school performing in clubs, restaurants, and resorts in the NY area (after teaching himself to “throw his voice” at the age of just 9 years old).
Starting in 1982, Bob practiced internal medicine and gastroenterology in Great Neck, NY. He also authored two books--one for patients and one for physicians--while continuing to delight audiences with ventriloquism, magic, mentalism, and hypnosis.
Recently he was a finalist in the “Long Island’s Funniest Comic” contest and has won rave reviews for his restaurant show “Close-Up Comedy with Bob Baker & Friends.”
And his performances in front of 500 fellow ventriloquists have made him the talk of the convention at the International Ventriloquists Association.
